High-quality plastic for a long service life
Installation switches have to withstand quite a lot, they are operated more often during the day and perhaps not very gently. Installation switches have to be able to withstand that. They have to withstand mechanical stress, and have a certain resistance to common household greases, acids and oils. To fulfill this purpose, only one material comes into question. Because of its hardness, plastic is particularly well suited for use as a material for switches. Resistance to electronic charging can be vital, especially in the case of defective equipment. Also the temperature resistance and UV resistance testify to the high quality of this material. In any case, with the switches in our store you are always perfectly equipped.
Where can the switches be used?
Thanks to the robust material and the high-quality processing, the switches can be used universally to trigger a switching operation. There are different ways of mounting and thus also different areas of application. In general, it can be said that the flush-mounted switches are suitable exclusively for indoor use, whereas the surface-mounted switches are suitable for both indoor and protected outdoor use. The installation switches, which are mounted on the wall, can be best used in the bathroom, basement, kitchen or laundry room, that is, in rooms exposed to moisture and water. Thanks to the many different switches, you are spoiled for choice.
What is the degree of protection of the installation switches?
As different as the mounting of the installation switches are, so are the degrees of protection that the switches have. The switches for the interior, do not have to meet the high requirements of the outdoor switches. For this reason, the installation switches have a lower degree of protection. This is IP20 for the flush-mounted switches. IP (International Protection) indicates how well the installation switches are protected against the ingress of water and dust. The indoor switches with IP20 protection are protected against contact with solid foreign bodies larger than 12 mm, so that fingers cannot touch live parts. The switches are not protected against water penetration. The over-wall switches behave differently. These have a higher degree of protection and can therefore also be used in protected outdoor areas. The outdoor switches with the IP44 degree of protection are protected against the penetration of foreign bodies with a diameter of more than 1mm and splashing water from all sides. In any case, make sure to use the switches only where they are not exposed to permanent contact with water.
Difference between surface-mounted and flush-mounted switches
You have a choice between surface-mounted and flush-mounted switches for your home. But what is the best way to decide? Here are a few little helpers in deciding. If you are in the process of building a new home and are aiming for a modern design, we recommend using flush-mounted switches, which blend in harmoniously with the overall concept. Since the lines are newly laid, you are still free to decide where you need installation switches. If, however, you want to install switches at a later date and want to avoid major structural measures, then the flush-mounted switches are exactly the right solution for you. The switches can be retrofitted to the wall without having to lay the necessary cables in the wall. This saves you a lot of time and work.
