Where does the name string box come from?
A string is a series connection of photovoltaic modules. A string always consists of 2 lines (plus and minus). The string lines are routed from the component array or photovoltaic park to the inverter and connected to the DC input of the inverter. String lines are 1-core DC lines, usually with a cross-section of 4 or 6 mm2. Thus, the name string box is composed of the name for the series connection in photovoltaic systems and the housing for storage.
High quality material for the boxes
In order to offer you absolutely safe photovoltaic DC string boxes that can withstand the toughest conditions and the special loads, robust ABS material is used for housings of all string boxes. Due to its rigid material structure, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is insensitive to electrical charging and largely resistant to grease, oil and temperature fluctuations. These properties make the material ideal for use in photovoltaic products. Not only the housings, but also the transparent flaps are made of the best materials. Thermoplastic polycarbonate creates an optimal combination of high clarity, good impact resistance and good heat resistance. Thanks to these features, you will always have the fuse in sight.
Why do I need a photovoltaic DC string box?
When you install a photovoltaic system, you need an additional fuse box for all the equipment, fuses and connections for the photovoltaic system. For safety reasons and fire protection, the fuses for the system must not be combined in one distribution box together with household fuses. In a string box, all equipment can be installed in series, just like in a distribution box. With the high-quality and reliable boxes you protect your photovoltaic system in the best way against short circuits and overvoltages.
Good protection with IP65
In order to be able to determine the degree of protection of the photovoltaic DC string boxes, the housings are subjected to various tests and then assigned an appropriate code number. The degree of protection is made up of two numbers, from which the degree of protection is derived. The previous IP (International Protection) comes from English and means "protection against penetration". The degree of protection we offer is based on protection against ingress of foreign objects and protection against water. IP65 states that the photovoltaic DC string boxes are fully protected against accidental contact. In addition, the enclosures are dustproof and protected against water jets from all directions.
