Durable and strong thanks to polyamide
Cable glands have to be able to withstand a lot. And this does not only mean that they have to be resistant to electronic charging, but also that they have to withstand external conditions. Cable glands are used in electrical installations that are located outdoors. Consequently, the glands must be relatively temperature-resistant and UV-resistant in order to be robust and safe for a long time. Polyamide is exactly the right material for this. In addition, thanks to its composition, it is resistant to grease, oil and moisture. External influences and mechanical stresses can be withstood by the cable glands in the best possible way, as polyamide is a very resistant material and we offer you only high-quality products.
How do cable glands work?
A cable gland is a form of cable gland or cable entry. With the help of sealing inserts, cable glands protect electrical equipment from external influences such as moisture and dust. The cables are firmly and tightly connected to the housing, nothing can penetrate, thus the cable glands have a high protection class IP. Electrical equipment includes control cabinets and installation boxes, etc. Thus, it is protected from external and mechanical influences. Strain relief ensures that cables cannot come loose or be pulled out of the glands. The first cable gland has a rubber ring crimped onto the cable for sealing. This allows for increased strain relief.
Which protection classes should cable glands fulfill?
Cable glands are mainly used to realize the insulated connection between cables and electrical systems. They must be protected from external influences such as moisture and dust. The functionality must still be guaranteed despite the connection. Cable glands provide exactly this protection and allow the electrical equipment to function properly. For this reason and the high level of safety, cable glands are assigned to a very high protection class. This degree of protection is one of the highest degrees of protection available and indicates that the cable glands are dust-tight and watertight in the event of permanent immersion up to a maximum of 1.5m for a maximum of 30 minutes. This safety comes from the construction of the cable glands and the seals used and should be used in any electrical installation.
